Our Approach
Study Halls & Tutoring Support
In partnership with local high schools, colleges, and community centers, BBA hosts dedicated study halls and tutoring sessions for youth who need extra academic support. These safe, structured environments give students a quiet place to focus, complete homework, and receive one-on-one or small-group help from tutors and volunteers.
Collaboration With Schools
We work directly with local schools to ensure our support aligns with each student's academic goals and classroom expectations. This collaboration keeps our programming relevant, targeted, and effective.
Coaches as Academic Mentors
Our coaches and mentors play an active role in each student-athlete's academic journey — reviewing report cards and teacher feedback, helping youth set goals, stay accountable, and build strong study habits. The diversity in our coaches also helps tackle language barriers, as they can communicate in the language the family understands.
Peer Tutoring & Leadership Development
Older or academically strong student-athletes support younger teammates. This model strengthens academic outcomes while building leadership, responsibility, and community. When students see their peers succeeding, it inspires them to rise to the challenge.
